With the Create theme we’re bringing you something entirely new to RapidWeaver. Blog Entry Thumbnails. This is something that is seen quite often on WordPress built sites, so we wanted to bring that goodness to RapidWeaver.
We’ve made it simple and easy to use. Once you see it in action and use it, you’ll probably wonder why it hasn’t been done before. Learn to use it in our Create tutorial videos.

Features
Header
As with most of our themes, the header is one of the areas where this theme really shines.
The Create theme features 28 different header images. Each and every one of them are editable with RWmultitool. If you’re not familiar with RWmultitoo, go check it out. There’s a free demo so you can try it out before buying it.
The header area of Create is also a place where we’ve added some new goodness. This theme features the ability to use and create slideshows. You can choose from 5 different slideshows which rotate through the stock headers. You can modify these stock headers and then choose the appropriate slideshow option to create your own.
If you’re on a little more advanced level you can use the RapidWeaver Resources, and a snippet of code we’re shipping with the Create theme, to make your own custom header. We walk you through the process here in a video tutorial.
You can choose from 3 different header / slideshow heights:

Don’t need a header or a slideshow on a page? Create also allows you to hide it on a page-by-page basis.
Width
You get four different widths to choose from with Create:
• 930 px
• 830 px
• 730 px
• 630 px
Color picker
You’re able to modify the color of the following items with the built-in RapidWeaver color picker:
• Body text
• Link color
• Site title
• Site slogan
• ExtraContent area 3 text
Fonts
Create features some beautiful fonts which will help to make your site really stand out. You can choose to change the font style for both the site title and slogan. You can choose from Museo Slab, Museo Sans, Maven Pro, Helvetica and Georgia.
In addition to changing the font style for the site Title and Slogan you can also hide each of these items on a page-by-page basis. A helpful theme variation for those using custom headers as well as needing extra space for larger navigational menus.
You can also choose from 5 different fonts for the body of the site: Georgia, Lucida Grande, Times, Helvetica and Verdana.
Blog
In the past we’ve made it a habit of dressing up the RapidWeaver blog page, using icons in the archives and blog entries and even creating little blog badges for the entries themselves. Well the Create theme is no different. In fact it is much better. We’re happy to introduce a new feature for the blog entries with this theme that we call Blog Entry Thumbnails.
Blog Entry Thumbnails are a super easy to use and really add some personality to your site and blog.

In addition to the Blog Entry Thumbnails we’ve also provided some blog badge styles, as well as an option to toggle off the blog badges.
Site logo
When you use RapidWeaver’s built-in site logo feature, the logo will appear at the top of the sidebar.
In addition to the built-in site logo feature we’ve also made ALL of the Create theme’s header editable with RWmultitool. Creating a custom header is a great alternative to using the site logo feature!

Site Navigation
This theme features one of the most beautiful menus we’ve ever included in a theme.
The navigation for Create is a horizontal navigation bar that functions as a drop down menu. The menu system supports 4 levels of navigation; the main parent level and 3 child levels.
The navigation is pretty smart as well. You can choose to have it on the left- or right-hand side of the theme. Create recognizes which side you’ve chosen and then changes the direction which the drop down, child-level, menus appear.
ExtraContent
This theme is packed with ExtraContent goodness. It supports 4 different ExtraContent areas.
ExtraContent Area 1 - Located in the main content area, just above your content and sidebar. This is the most popular ExtraContent area, by far. This ExtraContent area features 8 divider styles that will give your site a great look.
ExtraContent Area 2 - Our second most requested ExtraContent area. This one is located below the content and sidebar, within the main content area. This ExtraContent area features 2 divider styles.
ExtraContent Area 3 - This one is located at the base of the theme in the footer area. It can either be placed on the site background or have it’s own white background box.
ExtraContent Area 4 - This ExtraContent area is something new and unique. It is located just below the theme’s navigations menu and above the main content area. While it allows just one line of text, don’t be fooled, this ExtraContent area is packed with awesomeness.
It is a great place to put teasers, news items, notifications, announcements and more. It too has some style options. You can choose from 5 different icon accents, or choose to not have an icon at all.
The ExtraContent area 4 slowly fades in as the page loads to give it a touch of added style.
All of our ExtraContent areas are really smart. There’s no need to toggle them on and off in the Page Inspector. Simply put some content in them, either via the ExtraContent snippets or with Stacks, and the Create them automatically makes the ExtraContent area appear. Easy as pie.
Plug-in compatibility
We have tested this theme with a number of different 3rd-party plug-ins. This does not mean other plug-ins will or will not work with it, just that we’ve not tested them.

Misc
Create comes with two Photo Album styles. One option is to use RapidWeaver’s built in gallery style, which provides a page of photos that when clicked on take you to a new page with the larger photo.
The other option is to have the RapidWeaver photo album work as a lightbox page. For those unfamiliar with the notion of lightbox, it is when you click on an small image and then have the larger image appear, floating on top of the page with a faded out website in the background.
Supported browsers
Our themes support a wide variety of web browsers. We test each theme in these modern browsers to make sure that your sites will look good, and function properly. We highly suggest Safari on the Mac and PC as it is one of the most standards compliant browsers on the market today.
